"Childhood loves that stick."

There is a kind of childish glee in
walking into a store and getting
immaturely excited
by rows and rows of stickers.

I walked away with three strips.

My childhood sticker collection was organized according to categories.
The "scratch n' sniff" ones and
the furry felt ones
were my prized possessions.
I would count the number of stickers I had obsessively.
It's a pity that didn't help my mathematics.

I got sticky :)

"Discipline is doing something out of habit."

Today, I did housework.
I think my mum secretly swelled with pride.
She probably should have bought the lottery.

It takes a whole lotta energy getting past that inertia to do something out of the norm. There's something strangely satisfying about moving past time spent on self-gratification like being
a couch potato,
a book worm or
the Z monster;
and instead, do something for someone else.

I guess the real challenge to discipline is to be, without being disciplined. What's great is that I really enjoy my relaxation time more.
Boy did I relish my fantastically long shower.
I'm off to the Night Safari now! Hopefully.

I reckon the reason why I'm so scatter-brained might be due to the fact I have too much clutter in my grey matter. I have discovered that the awesome thing about Twitter is that it defrags my memory, even if no one reads the crap I write.

So I'm nestled.

I tweet
here.

"Carry me bag to days gone by."

The heat in Singapore is the kind that leaves your loins sticky.
I should have stopped at the word humid but no one would quite get the
picture.

For lack of a better adjective, it was
SWELTERING
today.

As was
yesterday,
the day before and
probably the days to come.
So says the weather man.
It's consoling to know they usually get it wrong ;)

I took shelter at the National museum and visited a tiny room displaying traditional carrier bags.

I like the crispness of kraft paper and the crackle that goes with it.
I like how that candy cane-coloured rope lints. I like how thin it is.
I like how gigantic stamps can be.

If you're in the vicinity, I think 15 minutes spent at The Bag Exhibition is a cool respite.

I love Museums! :)

Do a double take. Are you taking flight or descending?
It's a matter of perspective.

Down. Down. Up. Up.
Pretty much ground zero.

"If I didn't worship God, I'd worship London."

But really,
you do understand what I mean when I say I've London withdrawal symptoms,
do you?

"There is Wonderland on earth if it exists in your mind."

You would think the crazy cocktail of Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp and Danny Elfan would make "Alice in Wonderland" dizzily intoxicating.

But I did not fall head over heels down the rabbit hole in wonder.

The plot was a little thin and the lines seem to lack the usual Burton wit. Well, it's a wee bit tough to be overly critical with a film large on visuals (it pops with colour!) and myself large on kooky Johnny Depp.

Nevertheless, my wallet was left pale and hyperventilating after I forced it to open up and spit out $14. Note to self: No 3D movies on a Friday. At least not on a measly payroll.

That said, it's fashion wonderland with the help of Tom Binns, Stella McCartney etc.

I'll have a slice of Wonderland, please.
Oh, and that "Drink Me" bottle.
